First Dose
Yesterday we reached a total of 11,079 new cases in a single day. The highest in history for Malaysia thus far. Half the cases came from Klang Valley, the business hub of the country.
When the new numbers came out, I was at the vaccination centre at where I work. It was a last minute slot-in by my company.
Like many others out there, I was still waiting for my appointment slot while most of my family members and peers had completed at least one dose.
There is no transparency in the system. If I can get an immediate appointment through certain channel, that means there are hundreds and maybe thousands of people who are using the same method as well.
Though I am able to get a slot sooner, I am still not allowed to choose the type of vaccine. There were some who rejected Pfizer-BioNTec yesterday, but I was glad to be given this vaccine.
What are the side effects?
I felt quite alright after the vaccination. Drove myself home.
Today there is pain on my left arm, I am unable to lift the arm too high. No headache, no fever, just a bit tired and sore on my shoulders as well.
What’s Next?
I can probably go back to work in the office from tomorrow onwards. It is about time I show up more often.
The current work schedule expires on 16 July. There will be further announcement soon whether the lockdown will continue for the state where I reside.
It’s been stressful staying home while you know some people work in the office.
